Day 1 - the Sempione incident

After a hectic morning having problems with the metro we're finally boarded the plane and traveled to Milano.

In Milano we rented a tiny car and drove south for one hour to a town called Pavia.

Here we found a restaurant using trip advisor and it was beautiful just across from an old theater. 

After a beautiful lunch we went out into town and found a cathedral and one of the worlds oldest universities and a very beautiful bridge.

Having seen all of Pavia we got back in the car and headed towards Milano, Italian style, high speed, hand gestures and plenty of honking! ;)

According to the GPS we had to go to the city centre to find our hotel and after a lot of crazy Italian driving, we found ourselve in front of a surprisingly fancy and beautiful hotel! Only to find out that we had driven to the wrong hotel and disappointed had to reset the gps to the right hotel...

40min later we now found ourself in dark suburb to Milan, but no hotel at the address?! After asking a few locals we realized that we once again had driven to the wrong place and that Sempione is very popular is this part Italy!

Another losg drive took us to the hotel, only 10min drive from our original starting point, the Malpensa airport!...around 22 our travel companions joined us and we had a great dinner and good wines.
